The prompt updates as you type. It puts your question first, then five rules for your assistant: read the skill file, read the full text, cite sections, report gaps, and be clear about what it could not retrieve.
Paste the copied prompt into your chat, then send it. Your assistant needs access to the API to retrieve sources.

MY QUESTION

HOW TO WORK
- Read the skill file first: https://edvoicedata.org/SKILL.md. It explains the EdVoice Data API. If a copy is already attached, read that copy. If you cannot fetch it, stop and ask me to attach a copy.
- Check the available datasets and search the API across relevant California Codes, the Constitution, and Title 5 education regulations, then read the full text of every section you rely on. Follow continuation pages, cross-references, and exceptions. Ranked search results are not an exhaustive list of applicable laws.
- Answer in plain English. Cite each section number and link to its official source.
- Report the source collection date and any gaps in coverage. Distinguish statutes, constitutional provisions, regulations, and guidance. Do not imply the archive covers sources that are not listed.
- Never claim to have read text you did not retrieve. If the API or full text is unreachable, say so.
Connect your assistant with MCP
In an assistant that supports remote MCP servers, add a connection named EdVoice Data using this server URL:
https://edvoicedata.org/api/mcpConnection type: Streamable HTTP. Access depends on the environment. Private staging connections require authorized access. Read-only access to search and full source text. Connector availability depends on your assistant and plan.
If your assistant can’t open links
Open the skill file, save a copy, and attach it to your chat. Your assistant still needs API access to retrieve sources.
